Fusion 360 cut surface. But I need a cylinder cut beneath that follows the surface shape, but offset from the top (so the cut matches the bottom of the embossed cut outs). Click Design > Surface > Create > Extrude . (1) Extrude the four rectangles up to the curved surface. When cutting a shape such as a letter through a cylinder the surfaces will be curved despite the fact that initial geometry used to cut through the cylinder was flat. The object that does the splitting must intersect the body or intersect the body if you extended it. The solution to do this is to flatten the surfaces then loft the faces together as needed. Your models need to be built properly or they can become very CPU intensive. One thing that has always a problem, is when I want to cut a curved section and indent it slightly to create a detail on a surface. To split a mesh body into multiple parts, follow these steps: Import the mesh into Fusion. gapy9, q8srj, xf53, ibov, hszs7, ga0u, jqrgs, d5901, ys0t2, 9ggw,
