Yz250 clutch not engaging. So other than 1st gear, 2nd thru 5th gear the bike will not engage into gear. Granted it's a new bike I'm getting use to but I have ridden a bike before and this is just what I think. Rode it again couple days later and clutch isn't working properly. The bike does have a whole new clutch, and clutch cable, but it still won't work. But if this was my bike I would first replace all the leaking seals and anything else that needs inspected and then put fresh oil in it. The clutch disengagement point is perfect at the lever when I first start riding but as the clutch heats up during racing, the clutch is not disengaging fully at the Sep 9, 2012 · My clutch is not disengaging all the way and I can only shift about 50% of the time I try to shift. At first I thought the clutch was slipping but everything in the clutch still looks new. So my main problem is clutch drag, when its in gear and I pull the clutch in, the tranny doesnt disengage from the engine and it just locks up.
